I will start with one good point – and the only good point – I got a really nice hand massage, that’s about it.
I am no expert in acrylic nails but I have had them for over 4 years now, I have been through a few nail technician before finding two that do an excellent job. And I like to use the same nail technician so finding a good one here in the States was something i feared a little bit… and I was right!
My nails are acrylics with a gel tip. And this one nail was broken and my nail technician in Australia applied a plastic tip.
Well this same exact nail broke again and since I needed to have my nail re-done we decided to go to the closest nail salon around here.
The lady wanted to cut my nails but I said no, thinking “you don’t cut my nails you fix them”… so she fixed it by applying another plastic tip without even removing the existing one… so now I had a fixed broken nail with acrylic, two plastic tips and a big gap between the tips… a good place holder for dirt too… ewww!
She also used glue on all my nails before applying the acrylic… she was literally applying glue on the whole surface of the nail. How I know it was glue: because her skin touched one of my nails and got glued! She also used a spray on all my nails but could not see what it was. But when I went to another salon I saw a spray which was a “drying” spray but can’t understand the need of a drying spray while doing acrylics… But I can see that here they have a different way of doing nails.
I am also not used to the drill and kept jumping on my chair… so she said: drill does not hurt showing me by using it on my hand bare skin. I know it does not hurt, I was not arguing that fact, but it is a strange feeling and I am not used to it. But depending on the angle you use a drill… it can hurt! And yes, she got too close from my cuticle and ouch! now I was bleeding!
Omg, I could not wait to get out of this salon and looking at my nails, that woman did not deserve the tip that JAG had left her!!!
After a few weeks, I was due for a new manicure plus I had broken another nail so we decide to try another nail salon. The woman was shock by the state of my nails and opted to remove all acrylic from my nails and then shouted pointing at my thumb: this is a fungus!! Now everyone was starring at me lol
It took a while to removed the 2 tips on top of each other and it was a bit if a pity that her English was not good enough to be able to explain how this all happened but she did an excellent job with my nails and especially amazed me by sculpting 3 of my nails instead of using plastic tips. The way she did a French manicure was different but still looks good.
Overall, she did an awesome job and looking forward to go back there.

It is a very tricky thing to have your nails done at certain establishments. I have had the painful pleasure of having my skin cut with the little drills and that’s pretty painful in itself. I can’t imagine sitting there for a length of time only to have them come out not resembling what I originally asked for.
Sorry for your bad experience, I wish you much success with your next visit!
