Remember how on last week’s post I started discussing online dating? Let me tell you, one of the main problems with online dating is the profile not being ready. Or maybe having such a profile that a guy will read and just think that, even if he does not match anything in it, he will have a chance. And I know, anyone can basically write anything about themselves just to look good. But strangely enough, I don’t think it is the case: just take a look at all the grammatical errors and the lack of punctuation! I don’t know about you, but for me it is a huge turn-off! Some of the profiles are just one sentence long, which says a lot (of nothing) … And even if you bump into a really good written profile, you can try to read between the lines but until you two meet, the other one will know only a bit of what is this person about.Details
Some time ago, I wrote what turned out to be quite a popular post. It was a compilation of funny relationship quotes, often referring about marriage in a chauvinistic or feminist way. Personalities such as Socrates or Groucho Marx have discussed marriage from a funny –yet often quite cruel- point of view. But the four or five famous phrases I got were just the tip of the iceberg! I recall many people –friends of mine for the most- sending me other quotes and asking me about my thoughts on them. So to you all here is a sequel of marriage & relationship quotes. Enjoy!Details
Valentine’s Day is slowly but steadily approaching. You can sense it in the air: the perfume of roses, the abundance of chocolate boxes and teddy bears in the shop windows, the good old fashioned Valentine’s Day cards, filled with red and pink and the same good wishes… What’s new? Aren’t they getting a little bit old by now? Don’t call me a cynical! Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed because I am still not in any serious relationship, so I think I am going to miss out again 🙁 (I still never had a Valentine’s date, can you believe it?).Details
Relationships are complicated. Even though they may seem quite simple for the two people actually involved IN the relationship, others keep trying to categorize, to classify, and to tag each social bound… Let me make this clear by explaining what happened some time ago.Details
Earlier this week, the news about a possible divorce between Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore reactivated an old debate about older women dating younger men. They are not the only couple in that situation: Madonna and Guy Ritchie were ten years apart, Oscar winners Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins were twelve years apart… their relationships were in the focus of every media, and so were their divorces! Is it possible for such a couple to last? We are not intending an age difference of a year or two, but a real significant 10-15 years, as in this case. Anyway, some people believe that the man should always be older, and by “some people”, I actually mean “some women”. Why do they judge themselves so hard?Details
“Would you like to go out for drinks with me?” This question sounds really innocent and for some people it will be OK… but for me, coming from a man it is a terrifying question, since I can never be sure what is the exact idea behind it… “Let’s go out for drinks” as friends, because you are a nice guy and I am a nice girl, and it could be fun (in the truly fun way)? Or “let’s go out for drinks” because the guy thinks it might be his lucky day, and he is going to get laid?
News flash guys: it is not all about sex! And I am pretty sure (or at least I hope) there are plenty of women like me who want to see -even demand – more courting from the men.Details
When it comes to dating and men, I’m afraid I’m stuck with the old fashion way, or at least what I think is the old fashion way.
But let’s go back to where it begins…
When it comes to men, I usually don’t really have any problem! As they are all around me, I just have to pick one. Well, somehow they have to show me what differentiates them from the others, because this is the beauty of having the choice, you get to pick. But first, men need to give you a reason to pick them.
But now I face a huge dilemma… I noticed a guy in the building, and we have nick-named him James Bond. Why? Because he is tall, blonde and always wears a business suit.Details
